Media Facilities Go Green with LEED

We're seeing a number of media facilities, an important part of ICT, pursuing LEED® (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification, including Plymouth Rock Studios, Second Line Stages, and The Weather Channel.

Plymouth Rock Studios (MA USA) has "registered our entire development project with the United States Green Building Council (USGBC) in order to pursue campus wide, new construction certification under Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED®) standards."

Second Line Stages (LA USA) reports that its "entire studio is being developed from the ground-up to comply with the U.S. Green Building Council’s LEED . . . Silver Certification Standard" and that " the operations of the studio are being designed to influence smarter, cleaner, more sustainable physical film production methods and practices."

The Weather Channel (GA USA) has announced that its LEED Gold HD broadcast facility makes it the  "first media company to build [a] stand-alone 24/7 studio to certify for LEED for new construction".

The above links for each of these companies takes you to directly to the relevant pages.  In addition, The Weather Channel offers a virtual tour of its new facility and a video titled Hi-Def Done in Green.
