Cisco's most recent TechwiseTV episode, Redefining the Remote Office, states that 91% of employees do not work in the corporate office and the number of branch offices is growing at ~11% CAGR. Here are ideas I took away from my preview:

- The green shift is from using transportation to bring employees to work toward using technology to bring work to employees.
- Consistent productivity and satisfaction depends on a consistent quality of experience, be it in a corporate office, branch office, home office, or travel location.
- The challenge is to simultaneously increase complexity (e.g. pushing services to the edge) and simplicity (e.g., decreasing touch points).
